Awards


Tournament Awards

1st-3rd place finishers:  The top three finishers in each age divisions will receive an award immediately following the completion of their age division at each event.

  • Ties: For a one-day event, 1st place ties will be decided by a sudden death playoff.  All other ties will be decided by the USGA recommended scorecard playoff.  For any multiple day event, 1st place ties will be decided by a sudden death playoff.  All other ties will be determined by the low score from the last tournament day, and if needed by the USGA recommended scorecard playoff from the last tournament day score until there is a winner.               

Year-end Awards are given out at the Awards Banquet, which follows the Tour Championship on each Tour.  Reservation forms for the banquet will be made available later in the season.  The following awards are given out annually.

  • Player of the Year: The person in each age division who accumulates the most points during a season will be announced as POY.  Points are awarded to the top 18 finishers at each event.
  • Low Scoring Average: The person in each age division who has established the lowest scoring average by playing in a minimum of six rounds* including the Tour Championship.  *Round/event equals 18 holes or 9 holes for the divisions that play only nine holes.
  • Sportsmanship Award:  One female and one male, on each Tour, who best exemplify the spirit of the game by their attitude, demeanor, and treatment of their fellow competitors.
  • Scholarship Awards:  G.O.L.F. sets aside funds each year to be given to deserving young adults who will be attending a school of higher learning.  Any student who is a high school senior is eligible to receive a scholarship application.  Applications may be obtained by downloading an application from our website under Scholarships.  The applications will be made available on January 1 of the current year.  The number and amount of scholarships given is determined by the growth of the scholarship fund, which you help support each year.
